Sambalpur, May 9: Tourist access to the Hirakud Dam has been officially suspended as part of a comprehensive security upgrade aimed at safeguarding this critical national infrastructure.
The decision comes in response to heightened concerns about the protection of key assets, prompting authorities to act proactively.
Strict security guidelines have been issued by the dam administration, and surveillance has been significantly intensified. Sources confirm that advanced monitoring systems and security-related equipment have been deployed to ensure round-the-clock vigilance.
In coordination with state and central security agencies, the Sambalpur district administration has implemented a high-level security protocol at the site. As part of these enhanced measures, modern weaponry, including Light Machine Guns (LMGs), has been stationed for rapid response and area control.
The public is strongly advised to steer clear of restricted areas and strictly adhere to official directives to maintain safety and order.
