Top cop hurt in mob attack in Raygada

Raygada: Raygada Superintendent of Police (SP) was injured as a mob attacked his office here today demanding arrest of accused involved in a group clash. According to reports, the mob of around 100 people was demanding immediate action in connection with a group clash that took place on Friday night between people of Anjiyapeta and Nuasahi in which one Harish Patnaik of Anjiyapeta and Umesh Chandra Hilal of Nuasahi were injured. However, people from both the sides gathered at the SP office today demanding immediate action against each other. When the cops tried to pacify them, the angry mob attacked them and ransacked the office premises. Police personnel resorted to lathicharge to disperse the mob.
