Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan India shuttler PV Sindhu for winning bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. She defeated China’s He Bingjiao by 21-13, 21-15 in the bronze medal match on Sunday.
“Many congratulations to champion @Pvsindhu1 for the bronze Third place medalat #Tokyo2020. First Indian woman to win two individual medals at the #Olympics. Jai Ho!,” Pradhan said.
Sindhu becomes the second Indian athlete in Tokyo Olympics 2020 after Mirabai Chanu to win a medal.
Sindhu who had also won a silver medal in Rio Olympics in 2016 became the second athlete from India after wrestler Sushil Kumar to win two Olympic medals.
