To ease overcrowding, ECoR announces extra coaches in several trains

The temporary augmentation of coaches will provide additional berths to passengers traveling on these important routes and help accommodate the growing travel demand during the period.

To ease overcrowding, ECoR announces extra coaches in several trains

Bhubaneswar, August 31: In view of the anticipated extra rush of passengers, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has temporarily augmented coaches in several trains to provide additional accommodation and facilitate smoother and more comfortable journeys for passengers.

According to an ECoR release, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 18463 Bhubaneswar-KSR Bengaluru Prasanthi express from September 1 to September 30, and to Train No. 18464 KSR Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar from September 2 to October 1.

One Third AC coach will also be attached to Train No. 12819 Bhubaneswar–Anand Vihar Terminal Odisha Sampark Kranti express from September 2 to September 30. One Third AC coach will also be attached to Train No. 12820 Anand Vihar Terminal–Bhubaneswar from September 4 to October 2.

Similarly, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 22879 Bhubaneswar–Tirupati from September 5 to September 26, and Train No. 22880 Tirupati–Bhubaneswar from September 6 to September 27.

To meet the increased demand on regional services, one AC Chair Car coach will be attached to Train No. 18301 Sambalpur-Rayagada and Train No. 18302 Rayagada-Sambalpur from September 1 to September 30. One Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 18447 Bhubaneswar-Jagdalpur Hirakhand express from September 1 to September 30, and Train No. 18448 Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar from September 2 to October 1.

Further, one AC Chair Car coach will be attached to Train No. 18417 Puri-Gunupur from September 1 to September 30, 2026, and Train No. 18418 Gunupur-Puri from September 2 to October 1.

One Sleeper Class coach will be attached to Train No. 20832 Sambalpur-Shalimar Mahima Gossain express from September 1 to September 29, and Train No. 20831 Shalimar-Sambalpur from September 2 to September 30.

One Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 20471 Shri Ganganagar-Puri express from September 6 to September 27.

Similarly, one Third AC coach will be attached to Train No. 20472 Puri-Shri Ganganagar express from September 9 to September 30.

In addition, two unreserved General coaches will be attached to Train No. 12893 Bhubaneswar-Purnakatak from September 1 to September 30, and Train No. 12894 Purnakatak-Bhubaneswar from September 2 to October 1.

The temporary augmentation of coaches will provide additional berths to passengers traveling on these important routes and help accommodate the growing travel demand during the period.
