Kandhamal, Dec 24: The Kandhamal district administration has enhanced security and special traffic measures ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Speaking to the media, District Collector Amrit Ruturaj urged citizens to maintain harmony and abide by the law during the festive period.
A meeting was held with the police and other administrative officials to chalk out plans for managing the celebrations and measures to counter the spread of fake news and misleading audio clips. Necessary steps are being taken to ensure peaceful festivities across all communities.
The local leaders, including Block-level Inspectors-in-Charge (IICs), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and Tehsildars, will collaborate to address issues promptly. WhatsApp groups will be created to facilitate swift resolutions.
Ruturaj assured the public that both Christmas and New Year celebrations will be well-organised and peaceful.
The administration’s proactive approach aims to ensure a safe and harmonious festive season for all residents of the district.
