Puri, July 21: In a disturbing incident on Monday night around 8:30 PM, three young women were allegedly harassed by a group of youths while returning home from tuition. The incident occurred on a secluded stretch of road leading from Samanga parking area to Kanthapura village.

According to reports, six young men were loitering near a bend in the road when three of them began to harass the women. Despite the victims' attempts to resist, the remaining members of the group also joined in and continued their inappropriate behavior.

The situation escalated until one of the women’s brothers, Abhimanyu Baral, arrived at the scene and attempted to apprehend the culprits. Four of the accused managed to flee, while two were caught and handed over to the Police Control Room (PCR) team.

Abhimanyu Baral claims that a written complaint has been submitted at the Sadar police station. However, Sadar police officer Sunil Kumar Pradhan stated that no formal complaint has been received so far. "Appropriate action will be taken once the complaint is officially registered," he added.

The incident has sparked concerns over safety in the area, especially for women using the route during evening hours.
