Jammu, Jan 29: At least three terrorists, allegedly affiliated with the proscribed terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF), have been arrested in the Suhama area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, officials said on Saturday.
The accused have been identified as Faisal Manzoor, Azhar Yaqoob, both residents of Shopian district and Nasir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Kulgam district.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of Ganderbal police, teams of 24 Rashtriya Rifles and 115 Batallion of CRPF established a joint Multi-vendor Interface Protocol (MVIP) in the Shuhama area.
On being signalled to stop, the accused tried to escape but were overpowered and apprehended by the security forces.
Several incriminating materials including two pistols, three magazines and two Chinese grenades have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
“During preliminary questioning, the accused revealed their affiliation with terror outfits and indulgence in various terror-related activities in the district,” said the statement.
An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway, said a security official.
