Three places in Odisha record day temperature above 40° Celsius

Bhubaneswar, March 17: At least three places in Odisha on Wednesday recorded day temperature above 40 degrees Celcius, informed the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar.

Also, the day temperature soared up to 39 degrees Celsius and above in as many as eight places in the state.

As sweltering heat swept across Odisha, the mercury soared up to 40.5 degrees Celsius in Balangir, making it the hottest place in Odisha on Wednesday.

According to the MeT department, Balangir recorded the highest temperature followed by Titilagarh at 40.2 degrees, Angul at 40 degrees, and Jharsuguda at 39.6 degrees Celsius.

The twin cities Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded a temperature of 37.6 degrees and 38 degrees Celsius respectively.
