Intl Conf on ' Hospitality and Tourism’ begins in Bhubaneswar to 'bridge the gap between academia and industry'

Bhubaneswar, April 22: The Faculty of Hospitality & Tourism Management, School of Hotel Management, Sikshya ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar has organized a three-day International Conference on ‘Trends and Disruptions in Hospitality and Tourism in the Basuri Guru Auditorium of ITER, SOA University, Campus- I. The International Conference, which started today, will continue till April 24. {"id":179223,"sizeSlug":"full","linkDestination":"none"} The conference was inaugurated by the Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh. The conference was presided over by Prof. (Dr) Debi Prasad Ray, Chancellor, SOA Deemed to be University. Eminent poet, essayist, and columnist Hara Prasad Das graced the occasion as the chief speaker. Dr. Singh said, “The Union External Affairs ministry provides thousand of scholarships to Asian countries. The scholars here can take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Government and use them in a positive way.” Dean Prof. Dr. Sitikantha Mishra, said, “The conference will provide a platform to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Along with that, it will help participants understand the mechanism of facing the current challenges based on the research findings, especially in connection with trends and disruptions in Hospitality & Tourism and managing the crisis effectively". Among others, Prof. S S Mantha, former Chairman, AICTE and Chancellor- KL University, Andhrapradesh, Nitin Bhalla, Founder & CEO Kregzo, Delwara, USA, Prof. (Dr.) Bibhuti Bhusan Pradhan, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, SOA University were present.
