Muniguda, Mar 9: Belamguda village under Chandrapur block of Rayagada district is reeling under acute drinking water shortage, thanks to summer and official apathy.
Though the village has six bore wells, the villagers have to depend on only one.
The Rural Drinking Water Supply & Sanitation (RWSS) department has set up a water tank to supply drinking water to the villagers, however, the local residents are yet to get the drinking water. Every day, it’s common to see several women wait near the only bore well with buckets and pots to collect drinking water.
The village has been facing drinking water scarcity for years. But their woes are yet to be solved, said a local resident.
