This "casanova" history-sheeter entered into crime world to sustain 25 girlfriends

Bhubaneswar, Jan 14: A history-sheeter named Narayan Mohanty alias Naran aka Naru, accused in more than 26 cases related to loot and robbery, stunned the police narrating his personal life and crime history. Narayan was arrested by the police in a murder case and was in jail. He revealed his involvement in the crime before an inmate, who was informer of the special squad of police. The special squad launched an investigation into it and later arrested dreaded looter of Ganjam, Niranjan Mohanty, Babu allias Sagar Pradhan and Narayan, who was on bail. Police took him on remand and interrogated his crime history. What surprised the police was the reason behind his loot. His journey into the crime world was very interesting - how he landed in Bhubaneswar and his journey from a tea stall to snatching, brown sugar peddling to operating a sex racket in Mali Sahi ( the redlight area of the city) On questioning, Naran revealed that he had 25 girlfriends and indulged in robbery and later resorted to other crimes to sustain his girlfriends. He reportedly confessed to becoming a thief in order to bear the expenditure of his girlfriends. The revelation came when Commissionerate Police was interrogating him in a loot and murder case committed on July 26 last year in IRC Village in Nayapalli area here. Some identified miscreants had looted the house of Chakrapani Mishra attacking her wife Tulasi with sharp weapons who later succumbed while undergoing treatment.
