Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: There will be no shortage of vaccines in Odisha or anywhere in the country, informed Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after speaking to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan. Pradhan took his twitter handle to inform that he spoke to the Union Health Minister regarding availability of Covid-19 vaccines in Odisha. “Dr Harsh Vardhan assured me that there is no dearth of availability of doses of Covid-19 vaccines. Further, I have been briefed that Odisha has been provided with 34.46 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far, out of which only around 23 lakh does have been administered. Odisha will also receive additional 5.50 lakh doses on 28th March,” read a tweet of Pradhan. He further said that he has been informed that Odisha has sufficient balance of Covid-19 doses and that Narendra Modi’s government is committed to accelerate the largest vaccination drive. Odisha government has earlier alleged discrimination in supply of Covid-19 vaccine. Additional Chief Secretary P K Mohapatra on Friday has written that Odisha is struggling to muster one lakh doses due to vaccine shortage while some states have been achieving three lakh vaccination a day.
