Mumbai, August 11: Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma is set to embark on a new innings in the entertainment industry with his television debut. Following his retirement from Test and T20 international cricket, the former India captain is all set to host his own show, ‘The Rohit Sharma Show’.

The show, which is being billed as Rohit’s “biggest entertainment debut,” has already generated considerable buzz among fans. Sony TV Network recently released a new teaser, offering viewers a glimpse of Rohit in his new role.

The teaser shows Rohit interacting with the cameraman and other members of the crew, while also giving them instructions and suggestions. The light-hearted clip has further increased anticipation surrounding the show.

The first promo, released in May, featured Rohit’s popular “Garden mein ghoomne” dialogue, which had previously gone viral among cricket fans. In the promo, Rohit jokingly remarked, “I just said two lines and they went so viral. What will happen when the full show comes out?”

What to expect from ‘The Rohit Sharma Show’?

While the makers have kept most details about the programme under wraps, it has been confirmed that Rohit Sharma himself will serve as the host. Gaurav Banerjee, CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India, has also confirmed Rohit’s role as the presenter.

The show is expected to combine humour and entertainment, with Rohit bringing his trademark wit and relaxed personality to the television screen. More details about the format, guests and launch date are yet to be revealed.

Rohit Sharma’s current cricketing career

Rohit announced his retirement from T20 international cricket after India’s triumphant 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. He later retired from Test cricket in May 2025.

He currently remains active in ODI cricket.

In his most recent ODI appearance against England at Lord’s, Rohit produced a memorable 138-run innings. He also became the first Indian batsman to score an ODI century at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.

With his cricketing career entering a new phase, fans will now get an opportunity to see Rohit Sharma in an entirely different avatar—as a television host.
