Teenager spends Rs 10 lakh from mother’s account for PUBG, flees home after reprimand

Mumbai, August 28: A 16-yr-old Mumbai boy who was addicted to PUBG took Rs 10 lakh from his mother's account to purchase game's ID, UC. After his parents reprimanded him, he fled from home, news agency ANI reported on Saturday. The incident came to light on Wednesday evening after the boy's father approached the MIDC police station with a missing complaint. As the boy was a minor, police registered a kidnapping case and launched a probe. The teenager was traced on Thursday afternoon in Mahakali Caves area in Andheri (east) and counselled by police. He was later handed over to the family. Availability of electronic devices to children is very common nowadays. As a parent, everyone should monitor children's activities on social media and games, said Datta Nalawade, DCP, Crime Branch.
