Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: A rapid action by rescue team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has saved life of a stray dog today
. The dog being stuck with a plastic jar in its head was moving all around the place. Soon after receiving the request from an animal lover namely Debaprasad Mahakud , BMC moved its team immediately to the spot. It took time to identify the dog as it was moving hither and thither. Finally the team members identified the dog nearby Satya Nagar and the jar stuck in its head removed. The dog is free out of distress. Thanks to the animal lover.
Pertinent to mention that dedicated toll free number 1800 345 7458 is in service for rescuing stray animals in distress conditions like accidents, injury, immobility or any sort of such conditions. The team receives complaint over the phone and takes steps accordingly. The calls are received at Sub Divisional Veterinary Office (SDVO), Saheed Nagar, and Bhubaneswar are registered for action by the team members.
In the team there are four numbers of catchers and one driver. The team is also supported by livestock inspector and doctors who also go to field for on sight treatment of distress animals pertaining to the situation.
