Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: While the political climate in Odisha is warmed up due to the Nuapada By-election scheduled on November 11 BJD, as the prime opposition has started exercise to secure the Nuapada constituency once again. Meanwhile, BJD Supremo and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik returned Odisha on Friday, who had left for Delhi on September 7, around after a month.
The team BJD that has been camping in Nuapada since October 9 under a flagship program ‘Janasamparka Padayatra’, seems enthusiast, getting their prime brigade in the homeland.
According to the BJD sources, Naveen will now lead the ‘Janasamparka Padayatra’, alright from the Nuapada soil, wherein the party has lost one of its veteran leaders & former Minister Rajendra Dholakia who passed away on September 8 2005.
The ‘Janasamparka Padayatra’ across the state would be wrapped up on November 9, according to BJD’s correspondence.
A day after meeting the members of the Political Affairs Committee (PAC), BJD president Naveen Patnaik on September 7 had left for New Delhi on a four day visit amidst suspense over the party stand on the vice-presidential election that was scheduled on September 9.
Though it was presumed that, during Patnaik’s Delhi visit he would meet Rajya Sabha members of his party ahead of the VP election. However, in a post on X, Naveen cleared that he would be remaining in New Delhi for some days for some of his social commitments.
In another post on X, Naveen said, “BJD has always been at the forefront in protecting the interests of the people of Odisha. The PAC meeting focused on intensifying outreach to every household to highlight the state government’s incompetence.”
Naveen, after a longish absence from his cradle land and his BJD people, reached Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon. On being informed, some BJD state leaderships reportedly received their supremo at the Biju Patnaik Airport and escorted him abode the Naveen Niwas.
Naveen’s strategy on Nuapada by-election yet remains unclear as neither the BJD Chief nor any senior Vice- President, has so far made their futuristic roadmap on their deemed seat public.
