Sambalpur, Feb 20: Three children from a Sambalpur based orphanage in Odisha have got mother’s care in Tamilnadu. A couple from Tamil Nadu have adopted them formally with the due approval of the District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO).
Sources said Rina (14), Shankar (10) and Tulasi (7) were staying in Dr Isac Santa Balniketan childcare home for years.
In the meantime, Kartik Nagarjun, a software engineer of Tamil Nadu was keen for children. He had no baby long after his marriage.
Being informed from the district welfare office Sambalpur, Kartik applied duly to adopt the three children from Dr. Isac Santa Balniketan.
Getting the nod from the DSWO, Kartik and his wife Subhashree came to Sambalpur to adopt Rina, Shankar and Tulasi.
In a special occasion arranged at the Balniketan, the Nagarjun couple took the three children into their lap.
The DSWO has allowed conditional parentage of six months to the Nagarjun couple. Kartik is asked to regularise it before the Family court in Sambalpur, said the DSWO, Sambalpur.
