According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), Odisha recorded 4,582 suicides in 2019. The number rose to 5,569 in 2020 and 5,651 in 2021 before reaching a peak of 6,140 in 2022. The figure subsequently declined slightly to 5,989 in 2023 and 5,791 in 2024.
