New Delhi, Oct 5: The Supreme Court of India has announced recruitment for 250 Junior Court Assistant (JCA) positions. The vacancies are for the Group-B, Non-Gazetted post, and eligible Indian citizens can apply through the online application portal.

The online registration window will open on October 7, 2026. Interested candidates will have time until October 28, 2026, up to 11:55 pm, to submit their applications.

Educational Qualification

  2. A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in India.
  3. Knowledge of computer operations.
  4. A minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute on a computer.
  5. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill all the prescribed requirements before submitting their applications.

Age Limit

The candidate's age will be calculated as on September 1, 2026.

Minimum age: 18 years

Maximum age: 30 years

Age relaxation will be available to eligible candidates belonging to categories covered under the applicable Government of India rules, including SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen.

Dependents of freedom fighters may receive an additional age relaxation of up to five years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.

There is no upper age limit for departmental candidates working in the Registry of the Supreme Court of India.

However, candidates employed in other government departments, public sector undertakings, nationalised banks and similar organisations will not be eligible for age relaxation on that basis.

Salary and Pay Scale

Candidates selected for the Junior Court Assistant post will be placed in Level 6 of the Pay Matrix.

The post carries an initial basic pay of Rs. 35,400, in addition to allowances admissible under the rules of the Supreme Court of India.

Application Fee

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee through the prescribed online payment facility.

General/Unreserved | Rs. 1,500 + bank charges

SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Ex-Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities | Rs. 750 + bank charges

The fee has to be paid online through the payment gateway provided by UCO Bank. Applications submitted through any other mode of payment will not be accepted. Once paid, the application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.
