Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s para athletics sensation Suchitra Parida delivered a stellar performance at the Paris 2025 World Para Athletics Grand Prix, clinching two medals for India and showcasing her prowess on the global stage.

Suchitra secured a silver medal in the Women’s Javelin Throw F54/F55 category with a personal best throw of 17.98 meters, finishing second only to Mexico’s Navarro H. MG, who set a new American record with a throw of 19.96 meters and Salazar R A from Mexico bagged the bronze with a personal best throw of 15.66m.

Continuing her winning streak, Suchitra also claimed a bronze medal in the Women’s Shot Put F34/F54/F55 category with a commendable throw of 5.43 meters. The event was dominated by Mexico’s Gloria Zarza Guadarrama, who secured Gold with 7.72 meters.

Suchitra Parida, who hails from Odisha, continues to inspire countless young para-athletes across the country with her consistent international success. Her determination, discipline, and resilience are testaments to India’s growing strength in the field of para athletics.
