Cuttack, Aug 30: In a much-awaited announcement, the Odisha Police has confirmed that the recruitment examination for Sub-Inspectors (SI) will be held in October 2025, offering relief to thousands of aspiring candidates.
According to the Odisha Police Recruitment Board, the written examination is scheduled for October 4 and 5, 2025, and will be conducted in an OMR-based format across various districts of the state.
Candidates can download their admit cards from the official Odisha Police website (https://odishapolice.gov.in) starting September 20, 2025. The admit card will include important details such as the examination centre and timing. Aspirants must log in using their user ID and password to access the document.
The Board has urged all candidates to regularly check the official website for updates and further instructions.
It is important to note that the SI recruitment exam was previously postponed twice, causing considerable uncertainty among applicants.
In its notification dated July 31, the Board also introduced a three-year relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates. As per the new criteria, the minimum age to apply is 21 years, while the maximum age for general category candidates is 28 years as of January 1, 2024. For SEBC, SC, ST, and women candidates, the upper age limit has been extended to 33 years.
The application window for the SI recruitment was open from August 6 to August 15, 2025.
