Bhubaneswar, May 15: In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at developing patriotism and preparing the youth for roles in national defense, Union Minister for Higher Education, Surya Banshi Suraj, unveiled a comprehensive National Security Training Program for students.
The new initiative is designed to equip young people with the necessary skills for potential deployment in military, paramilitary, and police forces, promoting discipline and readiness for national service.
Minister Suraj highlighted that the scheme goes beyond mere employment opportunities. "This program is about creating a sense of duty and responsibility towards the nation," he stated. "It is about preparing students to contribute to national security and public safety through disciplined training and service."
As part of the plan, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) will be further strengthened to provide students with enhanced infrastructure, updated training modules, and direct exposure to various security forces. This will not only increase the appeal of the defense services but also provide students with hands-on experiences in the field of national security.
The new training program is expected to instill a strong sense of duty among the youth, motivating them to pursue careers in defense and law enforcement. This initiative is in line with the government's broader vision of national integration and youth empowerment, aiming to create a generation that is both skilled and dedicated to serving the nation.
The minister also mentioned that the training modules and selection criteria for the program will be announced soon, and preparations for the rollout are already underway. This program is seen as a pivotal step in strengthening India’s security apparatus while providing opportunities for youth to contribute actively to their country’s defense and safety.
