Paralakhemundi, Sep 2: Forty students from Kartika Gamanga High School marked their way to the District Collectorate office late at night to file complaints about various problems they were experiencing at the school.
The complaints placed before the district collector highlighted the poor hostel infrastructure. Even the students did not allegedly receive enough drinking water and food to meet their needs. Teachers were allegedly unsupportive, and they even sold the books that had been given to the students for free.
Despite many complaints from students, the school administration took no action and restricted students’ movements outside of the hostel grounds, rued the students.
Media personnel were also not permitted to enter the hostel for the purpose of reporting. There have been allegations that some corrupt people have squandered all of the funds granted by the state government for tribal student welfare. .
