Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Crime Branch today took four poachers arrested in connection with killing a Royal Bengal Tiger (RBT) at Khajuria near Debrigarh wildlife sanctuary in Bargarh district, on two-day remand.
Sources said the STF members were interrogating them at the Town Police Station in Bargarh.
On October 28, the decomposed carcass of a Royal Bengal Tiger was found. On November 2, poachers Satyaban Sahu, Gouri Mirdha and Sushil Bhoi were held. On November 4, Jakira Tidu was arrested in connecting with the case.
The STF will elicit information about the larger conspiracy in the killing of the tiger from the poachers. The investigating agency believes that interrogation will help know about the racket, its network and history.
