Bhubaneswar, July 6: Stern action will be initiated against the offenders indulged in illegal trading of agricultural power tools in Odisha, said the Minister for Agriculture and Farmer’s Empowerment, Ranendra Pratap Swain on Wednesday.
Responding to BJD MLA, Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik during the Assebmly Session, Swain said that the department is aware of the irregularities in supplying subsidized power tools and agricultural equipment to the farmers.
As many as three Agro agencies are under government’s scanner after they were found guilty before the EOW. The department has ordered for a fresh probe into the matter from the grass root level. At the same time a third party has been entrusted to investigate once again.
Apart from it, Annapurna Agro which is at present supplying agricultural tools to the farmers in Odisha with government subsidy is also under scanner, said Swain.
