Bhubaneswar, August 26: In a major announcement aimed at supporting farmers during the Nuakhai festival, the Odisha government has declared financial assistance under the CM Kisan scheme. As part of this initiative, ₹2,000 will be directly credited to the bank accounts of eligible farmers on Wednesday, August 27.

The financial aid is being extended to mark the celebration of Nuakhai, which falls on August 28 this year. The government’s timely support aims to ease the financial burden on farmers ahead of the harvest festival.

According to official sources, approximately 51 lakh small and marginal farmers across the state will benefit from the scheme. The CM Kisan scheme offers a total assistance of ₹4,000 per farmer, disbursed in two installments annually.

This move is expected to bring relief to the farming community and boost preparations for the Nuakhai celebrations.
