Puri, Aug 26: The first meeting of the newly formed Shree Jagannath Temple Management Committee (SJTMC) was held under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaj Dibyasingha Deb today. The new members were welcomed to the committee.
A number of important decisions were taken during the meeting.
As per reports, the SJTMC aims to make the Srimandir Adarsh Gurukula operational from the next year. “A Srimandir Adarsh Gurukul Society will be formed which will run the Gurukul. We had earlier received some money from the Supreme Court to set up the Gurukul. The money will be used for the purpose,” said Krishan Kumar, the chief administrator of the temple.
Besides, the SJTMC also decided that the servitors of the temple will get free houses. “We have identified eight acre of land for the same and each family will get plot of around 600 square feet and Rs two lakh for construction of house,” Kumar said.
Among others, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, Puri Collector Samarth Verma, Puri SP Dr Kanwar Vishal Singh and other esteemed members were present in the meeting.
