SRC asks Collectors to remain alert as heavy rains predicted in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 20: The Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) has asked Collectors of all districts to remain alert to meet any waterlogging, localized flood and other exigencies in view of fresh low pressure in Bay of Bengal. The SRC has asked all Collectors to closely monitor the situation with continuous vigil of low lying areas. Besides, the SRC has also asked to ensure functioning of control room round the clock. Several parts of Odisha are likely to experience rainfall activity for around three days. September 20: Red Warning- Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy rainfall at isolated places over the districts of Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur and Dhenkanal. Orange Warning- Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Kalahandi, Sonepur and Bolangir. Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Koraput, and Malkangiri. September 21: Red Warning- Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at a few places with extremely heavy at isolated places over the districts of Bargarh, Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Deogarh. Orange Warning- Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar. Yellow Warning- Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Dhenkanal. September 22: Yellow Warning- Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Keonjhar and Sundargarh.
