SRC alerts farmers to harvest crops ahead of cyclonic storm

Bhubaneswar, Nov 29: The Special Relief Commissioner(SRC) Pradeep Jena on Monday, has alerted the farmers and fishermen ahead of the possible cyclonic storm. Keeping in mind the upcoming cyclonic storm on the December 3, Jena advised the farmers to harvest the crops from the field as soon as possible and asked the fishermen to avoid going into the sea for fishing. The weather department has predicted a low pressure in the South Andaman Sea on the 3rd December while the Northern and the Southern Coasts of the Bay of Bengal are anticipated to receive heavy rainfall followed by thunderstorms. The Weather department has also warned 8 districts of Odisha including Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Koraput, Rayagada, and Dhenkanal regarding the upcoming cyclonic storm, Jena said.
