Puri, Oct 21: With the commencement of the holy month of Kartik, the Srimandir administration has decided the schedule for the rituals of Lord Jagannath and siblings. Sources said, the temple gate will open at 4 am every day with Mangala Alati, Mailam, Tadapalagi, Abhakasha followed by Radha Damodara Besha, Gopala Ballav, Sakaladhupa, Baladhupa, Bhogamandapa, and Madhyanha Dhupa. The rituals will come to an end with the Diba Pahuda ritual. The evening rituals including Sandhya arati followed by Sandhya Dhupa and Bada Singhara Besha will also take place. The Habishyalis (women who observe certain rituals for a month as prescribed by scriptures) believe that taking a pre-dawn bath at the 'Pancha Tirtha' followed by worship of Lord Raidamodar and other rituals during the holy month will bestow them with ultimate salvation. However, this year, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has imposed restrictions on Habisyalis from visiting the centuries-old shrine in Puri during the holy month of Kartik.
