Koraput, Feb 7: Days after Andhra Pradesh went ahead with gram panchayat election process in three villages under Odisha’s Kotia gram panchayat, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of Southern Division, will visit Kotia today to review the situation.
Sources said that Andhra has encroached into three border villages of Kotia under Koraput district limit. It has been continuously nominating panchayat representatives from Kotia area.
The border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh has been agitated in the Supreme Court since fifties and the apex court had imposed status-quo on the disputed area.
However, Andhra has once again started to cross the inter-state limit to undertake various projects in and around Kotia. It has now taken three villages of Kotia into its possession tactfully and renamed them.
