On Sunday, December 16, temperatures plummeted to a chilling 3°C, drawing tourists and sparking fascination across the state. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued a yellow warning, alerting residents to brace for an intense cold wave.

Similarly, Mayurbhanj's Similipal, known for its wildlife and trekking trails, saw heavy frost as temperatures stayed below 3°C for three consecutive days. The freezing conditions have disrupted daily life, with residents relying on bonfires and warm clothing to combat the biting cold.
