Mumbai, Nov 23: The much-awaited wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been unexpectedly put on hold following a sudden medical emergency in the Mandhana family.

Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack while the family was preparing for the ceremony at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli, her business manager Tuhin Mishra confirmed.

He was rushed to a private hospital in Sangli, where he is currently undergoing urgent treatment.

Family sources said that Smriti and her close relatives immediately reached the hospital after receiving the distressing news.

According to the family, Mandhana’s condition is presently stable and he remains under close observation, offering some relief amid the tense situation. Wedding organizers notified the media that the day’s planned ceremony has been cancelled. A new date for the celebrations has not yet been decided.

“In the morning, while having breakfast, Smriti Mandhana’s father suddenly felt unwell. Initially, we waited, thinking it might just be something minor, but his condition kept worsening. To avoid any risk, we called an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He is now under observation,” Mishra explained.
