Cuttack, Sep 9: Six police personnel including two women constables were suspended for allegedly thrashing an Ex-army personnel in Cuttack on Thursday. Superintendent of Police, Cuttack put the policemen under suspension after arresting the Jawan for allegedly manhandling traffic police. Sources said the Jawan was passing the Selfie Point located at Cuttack Tinimuhani Square on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, the traffic constable on duty stopped him for not wearing helmet, following which an oral spat erupted between the ex-Army man and the cops. Later, the former jawan allegedly slapped the policeman. The oral spat turned violent as a team of police rushed to the spot and thrashed the him. The police arrested the Jawan on the charges of manhandling on duty cops. Meanwhile, the whole episode went viral on social media that unfurled that police also took the law into their hand. The features of the video revealed that police also thrashed the Jawan violently despite a mob raised their voices at the spot. Acting on it, Cuttack SP initiated departmental action against the errant police personnel.
