Six including Jashipur MLA’s driver arrested for looting cash at gunpoint

Baripada, June 16: As many as six persons including the driver of a BJP MLA were arrested by Karanjia police for looting cash at a gunpoint last month. The miscreants had reportedly looted around Rs 30,000 from a businessman at gunpoint near Murgapata fuel filling station on April 14. A complaint in this regard was lodged by the businessman. Based on the complaint, police had started an investigation and arrested the accused persons including the driver of BJP’s Jashipur MLA Ganesh Ram Singh. After arrest, police forwarded them to the court. The arrestees were said to be members of an inter-state robbery gang. Meanwhile, the Jashipur MLA clarified that the accused had worked with him as his driver only for 15 days.
