Bhubaneswar, July 1: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Energy Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo reviewed the projects of Odisha Power Generating Corporation (OPGC) and Odisha Hydro Power Corporation (OHPC).
He directed the departmental officers to expedite the projects.
He said that this project will prove to be a milestone in strengthening the electricity infrastructure of the state.
Singhdeo personally observed the reasons for the delay in the projects and discussed with the central government officials to resolve it.
Among the new projects of Odisha Power Generation Corporation, there are two 660 MW third phase expansion works, a 50 MW solar project, and a flue gas de-sulfurization project was there. Apart from this, fly ash management, unused abandoned void mines issue were also discussed. Similarly, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation has 600 MW Upper Indravati Pumped Storage Project in Kalahandi, 600 MW upper Kolab Pumped Storage Project in Koraput district, 500 MW Bali Mela Pumped Storage Project in Malkangiri, 63 MW Khadag Hydroelectric Project in Kandhamal district, etc. These projects were reviewed periodically by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singhdeo.
Principal Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev directed to depute the departmental officers at the ongoing project work to directly monitor the project.
The meeting was attended by Odisha Power Generation Corporation Managing Director Kedar Ranjan Pandu, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Director Ashish Kumar Mohanty, Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Additional Secretary, Energy Department Nibedita Mishra, Lipsa Das and other senior officers.
