Baripada, Jan 25: Similipal National Park in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district has been temporarily closed to visitors due to persistent heavy rain and dense foggy conditions, as reported by Sai Kiran, the Deputy Director of Similipal North Wildlife Division.
The area has been facing substantial rainfall in recent days, attributed to a high-pressure system originating in Chhattisgarh. Notable rainfall figures include Ramatirtha with the highest at 34.545 mm, followed by Barehipani (25.146 mm), Nawana (17.3 mm), Chahala (17.4 mm), Thakurmunda (3.81 mm), Kendumundi (20.32 mm), and Satkasia (19.09 mm).
