Basiran Bibi, a former teacher of Nayagarh, has established herself as an accomplished author. A polyglot, Basiran has mastered command over Odia, Hindi, English and Urdu. She has authored seven useful books to expand the horizon of students of Odisha. She has penned several stories based on the Holy Quran. Apart from it, she is writing science fictions to promote scientific temper in the society. A series of such frictions have been aired in All India Radio. She has received the Governor’s award as an ideal teacher for excellence in teaching-learning process. She has represented Odisha at various multilingual poetry recitation at the national level and earned accolades.  The veteran author-cum-teacher received the Women Achievers of Odisha (WAO) Award-2021, jointly organised by Prameya Odia daily, News7 Odia TV channel and Preservation, Propagation and Restoration of Ancient Culture and Heritage of India (PPRACHIN)       on the occasion of International Womens'Day.
