Sexual harassment case: Kendrapara Credit Coop Bank president to be summoned to appear before the LCC; victim seeks police protection.

Kendrapara, 2/11: The sexual harassment case in Kendrapara Credit Cooperative Bank has today taken a new turn with the Local Complaint Committee (LCC) deciding to issue notice to Pramod Sahu, the president of the bank who is the alleged culprit. The committee today recorded the statement of the victim, who sought police protection. The victim today appeared before the LCC at the District Social Welfare Department and presented her case. She was interrogated for about two and half hours. During the interrogation, she submitted the audio CD containing the conversation between the accused and her and produced some relevant documents. In an exclusive interview to News 7 channel, the victim said there was threat to her life. She was being threatened not to pursue the case. Even there was threat to her family also, said the complainant lady employee seeking police protection. Demanding justice to the victim, the office bearers of Odisha Janseva Sangathan, a social service organization, today wore black badges. They demanded immediate action against the accused. The episodes of the alleged sexual harassment by Pramod Sahu are opening one after another. However, the Kendrapara police is sitting silent despite the prima facie evidence. The delay in initiating action by the police by six months on the plea of investigation has been condemned at various levels.
