Senior citizens fail to get the second dose in Balipatna

Balipatna, May 12: Right time for the second dose of Covid vaccine has been prescribed to be six weeks, where as senior citizens of Balipatna have failed to receive the second dose even after two months. It came to light when hundreds of senior citizens returned from the vaccination centre at Balipatna Community Health Centre on Tuesday. As per their allegations, they got the first dose of Covaxin before two months. However, they have failed to get the second jab so far. Besides, they alleged irregularities in vaccination in the area as some are being vaccinated with personal favour. On the other hand, the Medical officer said, vaccination is strictly conducted on first come first serve basis. Similarly, the second dose is given at the due time. Besides, additional centres are going to be established to manage the uncommon crowd for vaccination.
