Bhubaneswar, July 23: In another case of self-immolation in Odisha after the FM College, an elderly man ended life in self-immolation.
The incident took place at Badhiausta village under Pattapur police limits in Ganjam district on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Pitabasa Acharya.
According to reports, Acharya allegedly doused kerosene on his body and set himself ablaze.
Onlookers rescued him and rushed him to the Adapada Community Health Centre (CHC), where doctors declared him dead.
On being informed, the police seized the body, registered a case. Meanwhile, a suicide note was recovered from the scene.
The suicide read, “I do not want to live; please take care of my wife.”
