Security tightened at Puri Shree Mandir and Coastal areas following Delhi blast: Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG, Central Range

Bhubaneswar, November 11: Following the recent bomb blast in Delhi, Dr. Satyajit Naik, DIG, Central Range, Cuttack, led a thorough review of the security protocols at Shree Jagannath Dham, Puri, on Tuesday. In response to the blast, security has been significantly enhanced at the Sri Jagannath Temple, other key religious sites in Puri, and along the coastal regions.

The review meeting saw the participation of several senior officials, including the Superintendent of Police (SP), Puri; the Commandant of the Indian Coast Guard; the Commandant and Deputy Commandant of Swatantra Shri Mandir Suraksha Vahini (SSMSV); Assistant Fire Officer, Puri; Additional SP, Special Branch; AIG, Marine Security; and various law enforcement officers from Puri district.

Dr. Naik emphasized the need for increased checks and frisking around the Sri Jagannath Temple and surrounding areas. He also ordered a stronger police presence and more frequent patrols in high-traffic zones such as hotels, bus stands, and railway stations.

Additionally, Dr. Naik urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities or objects to the authorities. To further bolster security, police visibility has been heightened, with intensified patrolling throughout the city and its key areas.

Field officers have been instructed to maintain heightened vigilance and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of both locals and visitors. The situation is under continuous monitoring, with all precautions in place to safeguard devotees and tourists visiting Puri.
