Security cover beefed up at the state R Day parade venue in view of threat letter to CM

Bhubaneswar, Jan 22: The Commissionerate police has beefed up security at the Republic Day parade venue following receipt of an anonymous letter stating that there may be an attack on the VVIPs including chief minister Naveen Patnaik. While the intelligence department is worried about the anonymous letter sent to Naveen Nivas, the official residence of the chief minister a few days ago. The special branch wing of the state police have advised to beef up security for the Chief Minister in view of the anonymous threat. During the Republic Day celebration this year, Naveen will come up before a grand public. Naveen will be seen with the Governor. Anticipating foul play, the state police has beefed up 3 tier security at Mahatma Gandhi Marg, the venue of the state level Republic Day function. There will be a deployment of 30 platoons of armed police including Grey Hound ,Special Operation Group(SOG), dog squad and bomb-disposal squad.
