
Cuttack, Sept 17: A science teacher at Banahara Government High School in Salepur block of Cuttack district has been suspended following serious allegations of misconduct involving female students.
According to official sources, Ranjan Mohan Behera, a science teacher at the school, was accused of inappropriate behavior towards girl students. The matter came to light after concerned parents lodged a formal complaint with the school’s headmaster last Saturday. Tension briefly erupted on the school premises following the complaint, prompting local police to intervene and restore order.
The headmaster promptly informed the Salepur Circle Education Officer (CEO) about the incident. Acting on the report, the CEO, Lakshmeheera Labanyabati Behera, visited the school on Tuesday and launched an investigation into the allegations.
Based on preliminary findings, the education department ordered the immediate suspension of Ranjan Mohan Behera. The suspension has been confirmed by the Salepur CEO, who stated that further inquiry into the matter is underway.
Local authorities have assured that strict action will be taken based on the outcome of the investigation. Meanwhile, the school has resumed normal functioning under close monitoring by education officials.
