Schools in Kendrapara to remain closed for 2 days due to flood

Kendrapara, Aug 16: Schools under three Blocks in Odisha’s Kendrapara district will remain closed due to the acute flood situations. The District Education Officer(DEO),Kendrapara has issued notifications in this connection on Tuesday. The notifications read, the schools under the Garadapur, Marsaghai and Mahakalapada block limits will remain closed for the next two days in view of the flood situations. However, the teachers and staff will remain present in the schools in order to meet the exigencies related to the flood. Worth mentioning, flood water at Mundali barrage at Cuttack has exceeded the danger mark.As many as 40 sluice gates of the Hirakud reservoir were opened with an inflow of tens of thousands cusec of flood water by 11 PM.
