Cuttack, Jan 11: The body of an SCB medical college student was found lying under Utkal Gourab Madhusudan Setu (bridge) in Cuttack on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Jagamohan Sethi from Berhampur. Sethi was a final year postgraduate (PG) student of surgery stream at the SCB Medical College and Hospital. According to sources, Shetti, who was stayed in the Mahanadi Vihar area of Cuttack along with his wife, was missing since Monday. His car was also found abandoned on the bridge. The Phase II police have recovered Sheti’s body and his car and have sent the body to SCB medical college for postmortem. A forensic team who was inspecting the spot along with the police has also found a syringe near Sheti’s body and suspects that Sheti might have committed suicide by taking an anesthesia injection. The actual cause of Sheti’s death has not been ascertained yet. However, the postmortem report is expected to give a clearer picture of the incident. Some of the fellow students have claimed that Sheti was under depression for a couple of days but they did not know the reason for Sheti’s distress.
