Bhubaneswar, Sept 29: The Supreme Court Collegium on Thursday recommended the transfer of Chief Justice (CJ) of Orissa High Court, Justice S. Muralidhar, as the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
Muralidhar will succeed Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari, who held the office of the Chief Justice of the Madras High Court from February 14, 2022 to September 12, 2022. Bhandari retired on September 12.
This decision was taken in a meeting of the Collegium headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit.
Born on August 8, 1961, Muralidhar was appointed as the 32nd Chief Justice of Orissa High Court on December 31, 2020 and had succeeded Justice Mohammad Rafiq.
