Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended Justice Harish Tandon for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.
As per reports, Justice Tandon has been serving as a judge at the Calcutta High Court since 2010. His appointment comes as the position of Chief Justice at the Orissa High Court is lying vacant following the retirement of Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh on January 19 of this year.
Ranked seventh in the All-India Seniority of High Court Judges, including Chief Justices, Justice Tandon has a distinguished judicial career.
Before his elevation to the bench, he practiced as an advocate in the Calcutta High Court for several years.
With extensive experience in delivering justice, Justice Tandon is regarded as a competent judge, known for his integrity and conduct befitting a high judicial office, as noted by the Supreme Court Collegium.
