Baripada, February 20: A number of officials of SBI Bahalda Branch in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district dared violent attack of robbers on Thursday while armed gang looted the bank in broad daylight.
The robbers decamped with lakhs of rupees from the bank at gun points. As the bank officials raised voice and tried to call police, the robbers brutally attacked the bank officials to calm down.
According to reports, at least five masked robbers barged into the Bahalda SBI at about 11:00 am in a dacoity bid. Brandishing firearms and sharp weapons the robbers frightened the staff while the staff tried to dial police.As a result, dacoits assaulted the staff with sharp weapons and excaped with huge cash.
On being informed, the injured ones were escorted by Bahlda Police to the hospital for first aid and an investigation was initiated.
Checking & blocking on the borders have been escalated. Efforts are on to reach at the gang, said the police.
