Bhubaneswar, June 15: The U-11 Boys & Girls Khordha District Chess Championship concluded with flair at C.V. Raman Global University, witnessing a strong turnout of nearly 55 young talents across both sections. After five intense rounds over two days, Satya Swarup Tripathy emerged victorious in the boys category with an impressive 4.5/5 score, while the girls title was clinched by Akshara Hanaga , who matched the same score.
Both champions have now earned the honor of representing Khordha District in the upcoming State U-11 Chess Championship, setting a high benchmark for aspiring talents.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by Mrs. Gudda Sridevi, Pro Vice Chancellor of CV Raman Global University, as Chief Guest. The event also saw inspiring words from Mr. Bhabesh Mohanty, Joint Secretary of All Odisha Chess Association, and Mr. Subhasis Patnaik, Secretary of Khordha District Chess Association.
Other distinguished guests included Mr. Swayangsu Satyakam, Mr. Susant Sarangi, Mr. Saroj Behera, Mr. Santosh Mohapatra (Secretary, Master Chess Foundation), social worker Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Mr. Ram Mohanty, and former Santosh Trophy footballer Mr. Pradipta Baliarsingh.
A total cash prize of ₹10,000 was distributed among the top finishers.
